BLACK & WHITE DARKROOM PRINTING

In this workshop you’ll learn the art of silver gelatin printing in the Black & White Darkroom. There’s nothing quite like the felling of watching that first few seconds of your print developing in the chemistry.

Working alongside our experienced lab technicians students will learn all aspects of how to use the enlarger, basic printing steps, how contrast filters work, paper processing and more advanced printing techniques like dodging and burning and the joy of toning for effect and archiving of prints.

Our instructors are here to give you invaluable insights into the silver gelatine printing process, to explore the magic and mystery of the darkroom and have fun doing it!

Please note: The workshop will include all paper and chemicals, but all participants are required to bring their own pre-shot AND developed roll of 35mm or medium format black and white film.
