At District Darkroom our workshops cater to everyone. Whether you’re wanting a class to refresh your darkroom skills or are a beginner, each workshop is designed to teach the skills you need to work confidently in the Darkroom.


DARKROOM FOUNDATIONS 

  • Learn to Develop a black and white film

  • Learn to create archival prints

In this workshop you’ll learn the foundations of the black and white darkroom. This class covers everything from the multi-step film development process to creating archival black and white prints.

Printing

  • Make a contact sheet

  • Create black and white prints

In this workshop you’ll learn the art of silver gelatin printing in the Black and White Darkroom. Our instructors will teach you invaluable skills, tips and tricks and ensure you leave District Darkroom with a contact sheet, at least two final prints and the confidence to come back and work solo in the darkroom.

Film processing

  • Process a 35mm Black and white film

  • Make a contact sheet

So, you’ve been shooting film and enjoying the experience but you would really like to learn how to take control and get hands on with film development. Come to District Darkroom and discover what the art of black and white film processing is all about.

Bring an exposed roll of black & white 35mm film to class. (Not Ilford XP-2). And we’ll make sure you leave with all the skills you need to develop your films at home.

Custom film photography workshop

Not quite sure what is going on and want to get some intensive help so that you can spend your big dollars on getting great results instead of slight disappointment.
