Terms and conditions
District Darkroom Coburg provides goods and services to you subject to the following terms and conditions. If you visit our premises at level 3 69 Charles St Coburg North, you accept these conditions. Please read them carefully and get in touch (info@districtdarkroom.com.au) if you have any questions.
Darkroom Hire
a) Induction Process
Induction is a mandatory requirement for all first time users at District Darkroom Coburg, no exceptions. If you’ve had one year’s experience or ten the induction is designed to ensure you understand the ins and outs of how we operate, darkroom safety etc. Inductions are held on the Top Floor, 69 Charles St Coburg North, on Saturday and Sundays ONLY. If you are unable to attend any of the listed days and times please email info@districtdarkroom.com.au and we will do our best to accomodate.
Failure to attend will result in cancellation of your booking. No refund will be available BUT you are able to reschedule your booking. Please email info@districtdarkroom.com.au to arrange.
All induction attendees are required to read and sign the induction check list provided by District Darkroom at the time of induction. In signing this form, you are agreeing to the District Darkroom terms and conditions.
b) Darkroom Hire
All casual bookings must be made in advance and are subject to availability based on the booking times available for casual attendees. Your casual booking entitles you to use the analogue photographic printing equipment supplied by District Darkroom including chemicals and contrast filters. All attendee’s must bring their own photographic paper.
All bulk hours purchases must use the allotted 30 hours over a duration of two months. Note the two months time will start from your first scheduled session at District Darkorom Coburg.
IMPORTANT: If you do not use the full amount of 30 hours purchased within the time frame provided above you will forfit the remaing hours, unless otherwise arranged with District Darkroom Coburg.
1b) Booking Cancellation & No Show
If you need to change or cancel your booking you must do so no later than 3 days prior to your booking via email (info@districtdarkroom.com.au). Failure to notify District Darkroom will result in your booking being cancelled and the cost of your booking deemed non-refundable.
If you do not show up for a booking you forfeit your booking time and fee and must rebook at your own cost and convenience. District Darkroom holds no responsibility for late arrivals and no shows.
Workshops
All workshops must be paid for in full via our booking system on our website (districtdarkroom.com.au) prior to workshop commencement. All workshops are subject to availability.
a) Workshop Cancellations, Refunds & Transfers
Workshops are non refundable. BUT you are able to reschedule at no charge up to 2 days before the workshop is due to start.
A no show will result in you forfeiting your fee and workshop place. You will not be eligible to reschedule your workshop if you do not show up on the day.
Transfers (between people or a workshop date) can be made if notice is given no less than 3 days before the workshop date.
District Darkroom reserves the right to cancel or reschedule workshops up to 48 hours prior to commencement. In case of cancellation you will be notified via the email you provided and automatically included in the arranged new workshop date. Refunds will be issued at the discretion of District Darkroom.
If you are unable to attend the new workshop date you will be able to credit that amount to a future workshop.
Gift Vouchers
Gift Vouchers from District Darkroom Coburg are non refundable
All issued gift vouchers must be redeemed by no later than 3 months after the date of purchase. Failure to do so will result in the expiry of the voucher and no refund or exchange will be offered.
Extensions may be offered at the discretion of District Darkroom Coburg, all gift voucher extension requests must be emailed no later than 2 weeks prior to the expiry date of the voucher.
All gift cards are redeemable online only and can not be exchanged for cash or product.
Health and Safety
District Darkroom Coburg is not responsible for the archival quality or outcome of film processing or printing made in this facility.
You also acknowledge that the darkroom is hired out as a shared facility and it is your responsibility to be aware and courteous of other people’s needs and safety and to take care of your belongings at all times. District Darkroom Coburg has no liability for personal belongings of darkroom subscribers and casual users.
While we take care to ensure your safety, in agreeing to these terms and conditions you agree to and are liable for the health and safety risks of the darkroom. It is your responsibility to take the appropriate health and safety precautions. Your health and safety is not the responsibility of District Darkroom Coburg. Please show due caution, follow instruction and act appropriately.
