OVERVIEW

When you book a session at District Darkroom your enlarger and chemicals will be set up ready for your arrival. All you need to bring is your negatives, photo paper and mad darkroom skills!

Each enlarger available is regularly serviced and maintained to ensure you get the best out of your session. If you’d like to check out what enlargers we have on offer visit the Facilities page under our About menu.  

We offer printing size up to 11x14 for our regular bookings but if you’d like to print bigger please get in touch here and we can get it sorted.

IMPORTANT: If you have no previous Darkroom experience we ask you complete our Darkroom Foundation Workshop which will get you up to speed and ready to start printing!

If you have not used District Darkroom before: INDUCTION

PLEASE NOTE: All first time bookings are required to attend a compulsory 30 minute Induction session prior to commencing a Darkroom adventure. This is a one-time only requirement that will gain you independent access to the Facility. The total cost is $30 upfront - to Book in see instructions and booking button below.

Currently we are holding inductions on Wednesdays Thursdays and weekends but this will vary if there is a workshop or other booking. There may be inductions available at other times, please get in touch on the contact form and we’ll do our best to accommodate.

  • Allow 24 hours notice when making your booking, any attempt to book outside of this will not work in our system. Thanks for your understanding!

 

  • After this step in the booking process you can select an Enlarger time slot for the same day or a date following within our Opening hours. Follow the prompt on the confirmation screen and email receipt to access the Scheduler, or simply jump back to this page for Enlarger Booking Info.

Below is a list of the Enlarger equipment currently up and running and available to book for slots of 4, 6, and 8 hours at a time.

2 x LPL 7700 PRO 35mm to 6x7 Enlarger (Condensor head, uses multigrade filters in the filter drawer)

1 x LPL 67 35mm & 6x6 Enlarger

1x LPL C7700 PRO 35mm to 6x7 Enlarger (Diffusion head, uses dichroic colour filters to adjust contrast)

Coming Soon – Beseler 45M Enlarger, 4x5, 6x12, 6x9, 6x7, 6x6, 6x4.5, Xpan, 35mm

We offer Film Development gear as an additional/optional resource to be utilised throughout the booking. It is charged at $15 per session and can be easily added to your appointment (see below).

IMPORTANT: Upon payment you will receive a confirmation with a link to complete a Form that allows us to understand how to best setup your station with lenses and paper.
